Miami Lakes Optimist Baseball & Softball parents — Monday, August 17 and Tuesday, August 18 are the LAST tryout dates!

⏰ 6:30 PM

Players who still need to complete their tryout should make plans to attend one of these final sessions.

👕 UNIFORM FITTINGS will also be available both nights from 6:30 PM–8:30 PM in the Equipment Room inside the clubhouse. Please bring your child to ensure the proper uniform size.

Need help registering or still need to get your player fitted for a uniform? We’ll be available at the clubhouse from 9:00 AM–1:00 PM.

Please arrive early and have your player ready to take the field at their scheduled tryout time.

🥈 Congratulations to Our Own Emily “ET” Torres! 🥎💙

The Optimist Club of Miami Lakes is incredibly proud to recognize one of our own, Emily “ET” Torres, for representing Team Florida as a Unified Partner (player/coach) at the Special Olympics USA Softball Games held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, from June 20–26.

Unified Partners play alongside Special Olympics athletes, helping them succeed on the field while promoting teamwork, inclusion, and friendship. This year, Team Florida brought home the 🥈 Silver Medal—an incredible accomplishment!

Emily’s baseball and softball journey began right here at the Optimist Club of Miami Lakes, where she played from ages 6 to 16, often competing above her age level. She excelled in both our recreational and travel programs before continuing her career in high school and college softball.

Since 2022, Emily has dedicated her career to serving others as a Special Needs teacher, making a lasting impact on the lives of her students every day.

We couldn’t be prouder of everything you’ve accomplished, ET. Thank you for representing our community with excellence, compassion, and heart. Congratulations on bringing home the silver medal!

It’s time to get back on the field! Registration is officially open for the Miami Lakes Optimist Fall 2026 Baseball, Softball, and Tee Ball season for boys and girls ages 3–14.

💵 Registration Fee: $200 per player

🏡 Early Resident Discount!
Miami Lakes and Unincorporated Miami-Dade residents receive 10% OFF registration through July 15th.

The Optimist Club of Miami Lakes is asking all players, parents, coaches, volunteers, and supporters to attend the Town of Miami Lakes Council Meeting tomorrow evening and show your support for improvements to our park.

The Town Council will be voting on proposed park improvements that will help enhance the experience for our players and families while providing upgrades that will benefit our baseball, softball, and tee ball programs for years to come.

Your presence matters. A strong turnout will demonstrate the importance of these improvements to our community and the positive impact they will have on our youth programs.
