The Florida Memorial University National Alumni Association extends our deepest condolences on the passing of Dr. Richard Beckford, Founder and Creator of the legendary Roar Marching Band.

Dr. Beckford was a caring, resilient, and brilliant force. A man of vision, discipline, and a genuinely kind heart, who touched countless lives through music, mentorship, and unwavering dedication to Florida Memorial University. His legacy lives on in every note played, every step marched, and every life he inspired

As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life well lived and a legacy that will forever echo through FMU.

May his soul rest in perfect peace, and may comfort surround his family, friends, band alumni, and the entire FMU community during this time.

With heavy hearts and deep compassion, we share the sorrowful news of the passing of Mrs. Margaret Porter-Hall, beloved former President of the Florida Memorial University National Alumni Association. Mrs. Porter-Hall was a dedicated leader whose legacy and love for FMU touched the lives of many.

As we reflect on her life and service, may we surround her family, friends, and all who were blessed by her presence with our prayers, love, and support during this difficult time.
