Representative Skidmore has filed accountability legislation for years and the bills have never received a hearing. Now, with evidence that anti-abortion centers are putting patients at risk by failing to diagnose, treat, or assume responsibility for life-threatening pregnancy complications, it is urgent that taxpayers stop funding these centers.

Being in DC with our NCJW family —and advocates from across the country—was a powerful reminder of what’s possible when we come together to fight for justice. We proudly lobbied for the Act, the , the —and stood strong against cuts to SNAP and Medicaid. Our voices matter, and we made them heard.

This evening at 6pm ET, the House will vote on a budget resolution that could cut $880 billion dollars in funding for Medicaid and other lifesaving services for vulnerable communities. Programs under threat include Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) – lifelines for millions of low-income families and individuals. Instead of supporting communities in need, the proposed budget aims to cut these critical programs and fund tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy along with mass deportation efforts. As Jewish advocates guided by the value of tzedakah, we have a responsibility to fight for these lifesaving programs.
