📜 Rotary Club of Mexia Program Recap

This week we enjoyed a fascinating program from Connie Copeland-Colon about the rich history of Old Fort Parker — the site where our community’s story began. Connie shared insight into the fort’s early settlers, its role in Texas history, and the ongoing efforts to preserve this important landmark.

Thank you, Connie, for helping us connect with our local heritage and reminding us of the importance of keeping history alive for future generations!

🧩✨ Building Connections, One Brick at a Time!

Our Rotary Club enjoyed a fascinating program all about LEGO®

From its history and creativity to the way these tiny bricks inspire innovation and problem-solving for all ages. It was a fun reminder that imagination has no limits when you start with a single piece!

A big thank you to Rotarian Eric Bost for sharing such an engaging and inspiring presentation. 👏

🏥 Last week at Rotary, we had the privilege of hearing from Brooke Anderson with Parkview Regional Hospital

She shared how our rural hospital is so much more than an emergency room—it’s a vital hub for our community. Services like primary care, lab work, imaging, rehabilitation, and specialty clinics allow us to get quality healthcare close to home without always needing to travel out of town.

We are grateful for the doctors, nurses, and staff who work tirelessly to keep our families healthy. Their dedication makes a huge impact right here where we live. 💙

👏 Thank you to Brooke Anderson for reminding us just how important our hospital is—and how lucky we are to have it!

🏈 Spotlight on Mexia ISD Athletics!

This week, we were honored to welcome Coach Aaron Nowell, Athletic Director/Head Football Coach at Mexia High School, to our Rotary Club meeting. Coach shared updates on the Blackcats football team and gave us a behind-the-scenes look at the athletic program’s dedication to building not just skilled athletes, but strong leaders on and off the field.

📣 Don’t miss it — the Blackcats have a scrimmage TONIGHT! vs the Ferris Yellowjackets at Blackcat Field. JV begins at 5:30 then Varsity at 7:00. Come out, show your support, and help us cheer them on as they gear up for the season.

Thanks to Rotarian Bobby Forrest for inviting Coach Nowell to join us.

We’re proud to support our local schools and look forward to cheering on the Blackcats this season.
Go Blackcats! 🐾❤️🖤
