FREE healthy grab ‘n go meals at RQ Sims Intermediate School in Mexia for children up to age 18 plus enrolled students with disabilities up to age 21. Monday-Friday, May 27th-July 1st. Weekend meals will be distributed on Fridays.

Mexia ISD is pleased to offer free Grab and Go summer meals for children 18 years and younger, as well as enrolled students with disabilities up to age 21.

Location: RQ Sims Intermediate
Dates: May 27 – July 1, 2025 (Monday through Friday)
Breakfast: 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM
Lunch: 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Weekend meals will be distributed on Fridays.

Important Note: If a child is not present at pickup, meals may only be collected by a parent or legal guardian of the child.

We look forward to serving our community and helping ensure all children have access to nutritious meals throughout the summer!

Desayuno: 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM
Almuerzo: 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Las comidas para el fin de semana se entregarán los viernes.

Nota importante: Si el niño no está presente al momento de recoger la comida, solo los padres o tutores legales pueden recogerla en su nombre.

🥶🥶Jackets and hand warmers are very much welcome in the Blessing Box. Also, tube socks, knit hats, gloves, and small blankets. Please consider picking up such items for the Blessing Box when the weather is cold.

🍁🍁These are the latest additions to our meal kits in a bag: Cheesy Chicken & Rice Soup and Turkey Dinner in a Bag. Shelf stable and easy to prepare. All that is needed is a stove or microwave and water. Recipes are listed under each photo. 🍁🍁

We like to include pre-assembled meal kits in our Blessing Box. These are shelf stable items that can be prepared in a microwave or on a stove using just water. Pictured here are Chili Mac & Cheese and Tuna Alfredo. We also slip the recipe instructions in the bag. Others we provide are Beef Stew (or Chicken a la King) & Mashed Potatoes and Taco Chili & Rice. These meal kits are greatly appreciated by our patrons. 💙

Disposable washcloths and baby wipes are greatly appreciated especially in the summer months. Consider buying some to place in the blessing box. (By the way, the disposable washcloths pictured were only $1.00 at Dollar General.)

FREE Summer Meals for children in Mexia. 💙

MISD will be offering Grab and Go summer meals for kids at no cost for kids 18 and younger and enrolled students up to 21 with disabilities.
Location: RQ Sims Intermediate
Breakfast: 7a-12:30p
Lunch: 11a-12:30p
Dates: May 28- June 28, 2024 Mon-Thurs. Weekend meals will be provided on Thursday.
*If child is not present, only Parents/Guardians of the child are permitted to pick up meals, to expedite process please have your Child(s) Cafeteria ID number present.
