We Need Your Help

In 2023, construction began to bring safe, clean drinking water and improved sewer infrastructure to the Arlington Neighborhood. Today, the work has stopped, and there is no funding plan in place to complete the project. This is the only neighborhood in all of Methuen that has not had the pipes replaced!!

State and federal officials need to hear directly from the residents and small business owners who live and work here every day, as well as from those who believe that every resident deserves to know that the water coming from their tap is safe. A simple phone call can make a real difference by demonstrating how important this funding is to our community and helping secure support for the remaining phases of the project.

Please take a few minutes to call our elected officials (Phone Numbers Below) and ask them to provide funding for this vital public health, environmental, and economic investment. Then, ask your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers to make calls as well, and share this message on social media.

Hello, my name is ___, and I am calling on behalf of the Arlington Neighborhood in Methuen. Nearly 5,000 residents and more than 100 small businesses are counting on state and federal leaders to help fund the remaining phases of our infrastructure project. Our community is still relying on water and sewer infrastructure dating back to the 1870s, and this project will address critical public health, environmental, and economic concerns while protecting residents, small businesses, and the Merrimack River. Having Safe Drinking Water is not a luxury; it is a public health issue and environmental necessity. We are simply asking for the same safe drinking water, modern sewer systems, and environmental protections that every community deserves. The work has started, the need is clear, and we urge you to help secure the funding needed to finish the job. Please bring safe, clean drinking water and improved sewer infrastructure to the Arlington Neighborhood.

Our Neighborhood’s Infrastructure Project Needs Your Support!

The Methuen Arlington Neighborhood’s infrastructure project is on hold while funding is secured for Phase II. If funding is not identified in the next few months, we risk missing the Spring 2027 construction season.

Linda Soucy and Ruthy will be attending tonight’s Methuen City Council meeting to discuss next steps. On behalf of our residents and small businesses, we will continue reaching out to local, state, and federal officials to secure the approximately $70 million needed to complete all four phases.

We are not asking for a luxury. We are asking for the essentials: safe, modern water and sewer infrastructure, elimination of an outdated combined sewer system, and protection for the Merrimack River, our residents, and our small businesses.

The work has begun, and our community has already endured the disruption. We need to finish what we started, and we need action now!

Please join us tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the Methuen City Council meeting. We know this is short notice, but our neighborhood cannot afford to wait any longer. Please come out and make your voice heard in support of our community! Please reach out to our city councilors or write a letter to them asking for help in this matter.

The Methuen Arlington Neighborhood, Inc. was honored to join Walmart Store #3491 for its Grand Opening celebration today, October 16, at 9:00 AM!
It was truly a wonderful community event featuring local vendors, giveaways, music, a special appearance by Mayor Beauregard, the Methuen Fire Department, and so much more.
We were especially grateful to Walmart for recognizing Methuen Arlington Neighborhood, Inc. during the celebration and presenting our organization with the approved $1,000 grant donation. This generous contribution will help support our continued efforts to serve and strengthen our community.
We are proud to continue our partnership with Walmart and sincerely thank Jorge Ortiz, Store Manager, and Gregory Boom, Regional Manager, for selecting our organization to be part of this special occasion.
Thank you, Walmart Store #3491, for your commitment to our community and for helping make this celebration such a memorable event! đź’™

It was great to join Governor’s Councilor Eunice Zeigler, as well as Linda and Ruthie from the Methuen Arlington Neighborhood, Inc., to celebrate Walmart’s grand re-opening in Methuen!

As part of the celebration, Walmart presented generous donations to MAN, Inc. and Emmaus.

I’m grateful for Walmart’s continued investment in Methuen and its commitment to supporting our community, both economically and philanthropically!
