The other night at our bimonthly meeting, we ordered fried chicken from Andy’s Quality Market, and it was delicious. Andy’s always does a great job and supports our community as well as the Lions Club.

The Metamora Lions are mourning the loss of longtime Lion, Bill Kirby. Lion Bill Kirby was a true pillar of the community — the kind of person who quietly made life better for everyone around him. His long service with the Lions Club, his status as a Melvin Jones Fellowship recipient, his military service as a veteran, being named Grand Marshall of the Metamora Parade, and his induction into the Flint Bowling Hall of Fame all speak to a long life well-lived in service and community spirit. Losing someone who embodied the Lions motto “We Serve” is especially heavy. His legacy of caring and involvement will continue to inspire others in Metamora and beyond. May the many good memories of Lion Bill bring comfort to our community and his family during this difficult time.
