Bringing shoes to children in the Dominican Republic 🥹💙

Many of us take our footwear for granted, but for vulnerable children around the world, a new pair of shoes could be the first step out of poverty.

Distributing shoes to kids in the Bachman Lake Dallas community as they head back to school!

Shoes are a catalyst to transformation in the lives of children. They help kids attend schools, protect them against disease and injury, and give them hope. 🙏

Did you know we have a Barefoot Experience exhibit at our Buckner Center for Humanitarian Aid?

In many developing countries, children have to walk barefoot in muddy, rocky terrain for clean water or to attend school. Our exhibit allows volunteers and visitors to understand first-hand what children from different countries endure each day that they do not have shoes and the difference shoes can make for a child living in these conditions.

To learn more about how you can provide shoes to children in need throughout the U.S. and around the world, visit the link in our bio!

An amazing story!

Joselyn, age 9, after hearing about our community shoe drive at Buckner Lubbock, decided to host a lemonade stand to raise money for shoes — raising $41. Her older brother, Jude, in seeing her efforts, decided to match her donation. Together with their younger sister, Juliet, they brought their donations via their mom. Our Buckner Lubbock team were able to show them the shoes that have come in the building and share some of our Buckner programs. After hearing about our Foster Care program and how we help children, Jude asked for his donation to go to the Foster Care & Adoption program.

Thank you, Joselyn, Jude, and Juliet for your loving hearts and for giving back to the community in such a meaningful way!
