As we observe Memorial Day, the Mesquite Police Association Charities stands alongside our community to honor the memory of America’s true heroes.

Today is a solemn reminder of the steep price of our freedom. We pause to remember the courageous men and women of our Armed Forces who laid down their lives in defense of our nation. Their selflessness secured the liberties we enjoy today, and their legacy is forever woven into the fabric of the communities we protect and serve.

To the families who carry the heavy burden of a loss that can never be replaced: we see you, we honor you, and we promise to never let their sacrifices fade into history.

May we all live our lives in a way that remains worthy of the incredible gifts they left behind.

Today, the Mesquite Police Association Charities proudly recognizes World Autism Awareness Day and our continued commitment to supporting individuals with autism and their families here in .

Through our Autism Awareness Program, families can voluntarily share important information that helps our officers respond with understanding, preparation, and care during emergencies or unexpected interactions. This program has been a huge success thanks to our partnership with Mesquite ISD!

To support this program, we are also hosting a limited Autism Awareness Patch fundraiser.

The Mesquite Police Association Charities and Mesquite Police Association are proud to support our Awareness Program in partnership with the City of , the Mesquite Police Department, and Mesquite ISD.

Our program helps first responders better serve individuals with autism by allowing families to voluntarily register important information that can assist officers during emergencies or unexpected interactions. Participating families may also receive home and vehicle decals that help alert first responders that someone with autism may be present.

🐕 Help Support for Retired K9 Axel 🦴

Mesquite Police Association Charities is asking our community to come together in support of Axel, a retired Mesquite Police Department who faithfully served and protected the City of for years. Axel is now facing a painful injury — a torn cranial cruciate ligament — that is limiting his mobility and affecting his quality of life.

Veterinary specialists have recommended surgery to stabilize his knee and give him the chance to heal and enjoy a comfortable retirement. The cost of this care, including surgery, diagnostics, and recovery, is more than his handler can manage alone.

🙏 Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward Axel’s medical care.
