We are very excited to announce the launch of Will’s Hope Charity for Medically Fragile Children and Their Families. This charity is a non-profit entity that serves the needs of families throughout our community. When a medically fragile child is released from the hospital to a long term care facility, often the family struggles to adjust to the dramatic change this presents. The burdens on these
families are great, often surpassing their ability to cope with these changes alone. This is where Will's Hope Charity steps in to support the changing needs of the children and their families. Initially, we are raising funds to assist families with transportation for visits, hotels/housing and meals during their stay to visit their children who are placed in 24/7 nursing care. We will also provide services such as medical care training to the families, so they may experience the joy of learning to care for their own child alongside medical professionals. We help to cover funeral expenses for the families of those children who pass from this life, as well as provide for various other needs as they arise including clothing, emotional support and guidance to the families and so much more. Our vision for the future is to open a drop-in day care for families of medically fragile children as well as provide services similar to the Ronald McDonald House for children that aren’t admitted into a hospital.
