This month the Forever Young Foundation hosted their annual conference in Phoenix, Arizona! Meredith had the wonderful opportunity to attend and represent Sophie‘s Place, and present alongside Mike Merchant (Senior Vice President of Arbinger) on strategic planning and Sophie’s Place! The conference was mixed with wonderful opportunities for networking and connecting, as well as celebrating all of the wonderful initiatives that Steve and Barb Young support through the foundation and unite key stake holders that support the foundation as well.

We’re so grateful for all of the compassionate and brilliant people that make Sophie’s Place possible! 💛🦋

While in Arizona, Meredith had the opportunity to go to Banner children’s and meet with Sarra, the music therapist there! They had a wonderful time, including a tour of the hospital, discussed Sophie‘s place programming, and so much more. It is such a wonderful opportunity to meet others and connect in the Sophie’s Place family. 🎶✨

It’s hard to know what to say when someone as beloved as Dolly Parton passes from this world but all we can think about is the way her music has brought so much light and joy into our Sophie’s Place locations these past 13 years. 💛✨

This is a video from several years ago during one of our Friday self-care jams that the Primary Children’s (Salt Lake City) Sophie’s Place hosts every week for the music therapists and other staff members within the hospital to process and find joy through music. You can tell just listening the way Dolly’s music lit up the space and people there.

Dolly lived by the words Sophie often said: “Music changes everything!” 💐🦋
