Unlock the Secrets of Soil for Thriving Roses and learn about Garden Safety

Join us for an enlightening presentation by Sheri McLane, president and agronomist at IAS Laboratories; she is an expert in soil nutrient testing for agriculture and horticulture across the region. In this session, Sheri will share practical, research-based insights on ways to improve your soil for growing stunning roses. She’ll cover how to identify what your soil needs, how to test for nutrient availability, and how to enrich your garden using natural and organic methods—just like she does in her garden.

A dedicated educator, Sheri also teaches soil science in the Urban Horticulture Program at Mesa Community College, helping gardeners of all levels unlock the potential beneath their plants.

Also, our MEVRS’ Kyle Burnis will talk about working in the Garden Safely. A former nurse, Kyle, will talk about ways to protect you against garden pests and pathogens found in our garden soils and on our plants.

Please note that our general membership meetings for July and August have been cancelled as we take a short summer break.

We look forward to gathering again in person on the second Thursday of September for our regular meeting and a fresh season of rose-growing fellowship and learning.

In the meantime, if you have any questions about roses or anything related to the Society, please feel free to reach out by email to one of our Consulting Rosarians (CRs) or a member of the Board—we’re always happy to help.

Thank you for your continued support, and enjoy your summer break!

Warm regards,
