We are honored to support the East Valley Veterans Parade in Downtown Mesa, which provides an opportunity for the community to come together in honoring, thanking and celebrating local Veterans, active Military, and their families on Tuesday, November 11th, from 11:00-1:00. Rotarian Tere Ruiz gave a wonderful presentation ablut an effort to fund a new school in Mexico for the children of the Triqui indigenous tribe. Such a great project to support! Diana Tacey of the Queen Creek Rotary Club joined Tere this morning.

We had had some great insight into the Mesa Public School District as Dr. Matt Strom, MPS Superintendent, and a 10 yr Rotarian, presented to our club today.

Mesa Public School Facts
-MPS is the largest public school district in Arizona
-MPS serves approximately 54,000 students
-With declining enrollment, the repurpose of schools and reimagine office spaces is important
-In 2025 there were 4600 graduating students
-The 2025/2026 year welcomed 3200 students back to class
-Bezos Academy provides tuition-free preschools to 3 Mesa Public schools.

We had a very inspirational club meeting! Our president of the Month, Ray Villa reminded us the importance of relationships and connections throughout our life.

The inspiration continued with our special guest, local real estate broker, Terry Lents. Terry shared some insight on the power of prayer and the prompting of spirit to make an internal difference in someone’s life.
