For young people who have experienced foster care, their story is not defined by where they started or what they’ve been through.

There is still so much left to be written.

And we believe every young person deserves the opportunity, encouragement, and support to build a future they are excited about.

𝕋𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕜 𝕓𝕒𝕔𝕜 𝕥𝕠 𝕨𝕙𝕖𝕟 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕨𝕖𝕣𝕖 𝕒 𝕜𝕚𝕕.

What made you feel like you belonged?

Maybe it was a friend who always saved you a seat.

A coach who believed in you.

Your grandmother's kitchen.

A teacher who knew when something was wrong.

A neighbor who always waved.

Maybe it was simply knowing there was a place where you were expected, welcomed, and wanted.

For children experiencing foster care, that sense of belonging can be complicated.

But the need for it isn't.

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄: “𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.”

Maybe.

But you probably know a teacher.

A coach.

A daycare provider.

A social worker.

A neighbor.

A grandparent.

A teenager.

A family quietly doing their best to navigate something they never expected.

Foster care isn't happening somewhere else.

It's happening in our schools, neighborhoods, churches, workplaces and communities.

And that's why community matters so much.

You don't have to know someone's entire story to decide that they deserve support.

You don't have to become a foster parent to make a difference in foster care.

You can be the person who brings dinner.

The person who listens.

The person who volunteers.

The person who checks in on a foster family when they're exhausted.

The person who makes a child feel remembered.

There are a lot of ways to show up for children and families experiencing foster care—and not all of them require you to open your home.

Sometimes, the most meaningful thing we can do is simply decide that we won't look away.

Recently, we were honored to join others in our community at Superstition Springs Center as a recipient of their $𝟱,𝟬𝟬𝟬 “𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸-𝘁𝗼-𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹” 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

We are incredibly grateful to Superstition Springs Center for their continued generosity and commitment to giving back—not only to Foster Arizona, but to so many organizations and families throughout our community.

Foster Cooperative is next weekend!

Foster Arizona is excited to host our semi-annual Foster Cooperative Training! Join us for an all day event for parent training while your children enjoy daycare on site.

Sundays are for community 🏠

This week we had a great time with our young adults from the Foster Arizona Housing Project! We learned about credit during our financial literacy session, CPR and first aid in our life skill class, and a group of the young adults made some out of this world tacos so that we could eat together as a community!

If you have a heart for young adults and one or two Sundays free a month, DM us and we would love to get you plugged in!

Do you remember getting ready for your first day of school as a kid?

The excitement of picking out your first-day outfit. The questions running through your mind: “What am I going to wear?” and “Do I have everything I need?” The butterflies that showed up as the first day got closer.

Us too. 💙

Last Saturday, Foster Arizona had the privilege of hosting our Back-to-School Shopping Kid Initiative Event, where 21 families and 63 children were able to shop for school essentials, receive a backpack, and fill it with supplies to help them head back to school feeling prepared, confident, and ready for the year ahead.

We love this event because it does more than provide school supplies — it creates moments of encouragement, belonging, and empowerment for kids while supporting caregivers during a season that can bring added stress and financial pressure.

Every child deserves to walk into their classroom knowing they are ready, supported, and valued.

Thank you to our event partner, Chapman Automotive Group and Chapman Cares, our site host Target Tempe Marketplace, and everyone who helped make this day possible and to everyone who continues to show up for foster and kinship families in our community.
