Effective July 1, 2026, I will be stepping down from my position as President and CEO of Mesa United Way.
It has been a tremendous honor to serve this organization and the Mesa community. I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together over the past several years and deeply grateful for the many friendships, partnerships, and collaborations that have made this work possible.
During my tenure, Mesa United Way evolved to focus primarily on direct client services in four key areas: foster and kinship care, support for youth aging out of foster care, literacy, and tax preparation and poverty alleviation services. These programs were developed in direct response to identified community needs and changing philanthropic trends, including the growing utilization of Arizona Tax Credits by donors. I am proud of the impact these initiatives have made and confident that their influence will continue to grow.
While I am leaving my role at Mesa United Way, I am not retiring. Rather, I will be transitioning full-time into my role as CEO of Azura, where I will focus on the continued growth and sustainability of its programs, including Helen’s Hope Chest, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA), Azura Literacy, and Foster360. I am also excited to explore new opportunities and innovative solutions aimed at addressing the root causes of poverty and creating pathways to long-term stability for individuals and families.
Mesa United Way will continue its important mission under new leadership and remain a vital force in supporting the many causes and organizations that strengthen our community.
I am sincerely grateful for the trust and support of our Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, community partners, and donors. Together, we have made a meaningful difference in the lives of countless individuals and families. I look forward to watching that impact continue and expand in the years ahead.
