Statement from President Jevin D. Hodge on the Detainment of Community Leader Martin Hernandez

November 25, 2025

Earlier today we learned that community leader Martin Hernandez had been detained in Mesa while peacefully observing and documenting activity in the community. We are relieved to confirm that Martin has now been released.

We have seen transparency from the department, and they acted swiftly to resolve this matter.
