🇺🇸 SPVEA Featured in East Mesa Community Magazine!
What an incredible honor for our Founder & CEO, David Sauer, to be featured in the Fall 2026 East Mesa Community Magazine as part of its veteran highlights!
David had the opportunity to share a little about his military service, his continued commitment to the veteran community, and the mission behind SauerPower Veterans Empowerment Alliance (SPVEA).
For David, serving didn’t end when he left the Marine Corps.
SPVEA was built from a deeply personal mission: to help veterans and their families overcome barriers to mental health care and make sure they have a community standing beside them when they need support most. Today, that mission continues through partnerships, coordinated referrals, advocacy, and financial assistance for mental health services when available.
Every opportunity like this helps us introduce SPVEA to another veteran, another family, another business, and another community partner who may want to join us in this fight.
A huge THANK YOU to East Mesa Community Magazine for recognizing veterans who are continuing to make an impact right here in our community and for giving David the opportunity to share the SPVEA mission.

Today, SPVEA’s CEO David Sauer, our very own Baby Operations Officer, Carly Sauer and Youth Advisory Council Member, Julian were out in the community supporting another local Mesa business! 🇺🇸❤️

We had the pleasure of attending the ribbon cutting for Andi’s Hair Salon and Barbershop and celebrating their business, their team, and their commitment to serving our Mesa community.

At SPVEA, we believe strong communities are built when local businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders show up and support one another.

Our Founder & CEO, David Sauer, recently took his family out to Main Event to celebrate a pretty big milestone — his son’s 18th birthday! 🎂🎳🎮

It was a great reminder that some of the best moments are the ones spent together.

Receiving this support is more than just funding—it is a vote of confidence in our mission and the work we are doing to ensure veterans and their families have access to the mental health care and support they deserve.

We are truly grateful to the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame Society for believing in SPVEA and investing in our mission. Their support will help us continue removing barriers to mental health care and standing beside veterans and their families when they need it most.

🇺🇸 You may not have heard much from SPVEA over the last couple of months—but there’s been a pretty good reason.

Our Founder & CEO, David Sauer, has been taking some well-deserved R&R at home after welcoming his newborn twin baby girls into the world. 👶👶❤️

During this season, David has poured his servant’s heart into what mattered most—supporting his wife, caring for their girls, and being present for his family as they adjusted to this incredible new chapter.

But now, it’s time to get back to work. 💪🇺🇸

David is returning with even more fire, purpose, and compassion to continue building SPVEA and fighting for Arizona veterans and their families.

Our mission hasn’t changed.

We are here to remove barriers to mental health care, stand beside veterans and their families when they need support, and remind them that asking for help is a sign of STRENGTH—not weakness.

Because whether it’s on the battlefield, at home, or during the battles nobody else can see…

No one should be in this fight alone.

We’re back. We’re ready. And we’re just getting started.

🇺🇸 THIS IS WHY SAUERPOWER VETERANS EMPOWERMENT ALLIANCE WAS FORMED.

Today, ABC15 reported on new concerns surrounding how long some veterans are waiting to access mental health care.

According to the report, an analysis of more than 800 VA medical centers found that veterans waited more than 20 days for their first mental health appointment at roughly two-thirds of the facilities surveyed.

At more than two dozen facilities, veterans reportedly waited more than three months.

For a veteran struggling with PTSD, depression, anxiety, trauma, or simply reaching the point where they finally have the courage to say, “I need help,” weeks or months can be far too long.

This is exactly why SauerPower Veterans Empowerment Alliance (SPVEA) was formed.

We aren’t here to replace the VA.

We aren’t here to criticize the dedicated people working every day to care for our veterans.

We are here to help fill the gap.

When a veteran reaches out for help, there should be another option when cost, insurance, availability, or long wait times stand between them and the mental health care they need.

That is where SPVEA comes in.

Through our Veterans Mental Health Access and Family Stability Program, we partner with local mental health providers and help cover the cost of counseling for veterans and their families who otherwise may struggle to access care.

Because when a veteran finally says:

“I need help.”

The answer shouldn’t be:

“We’ll see you in a few weeks.”

It should be:

“We’re here. Let’s get you connected.”

As a Marine veteran, I know how difficult it can be to admit that you need help. I also know what it is like to watch fellow veterans struggle after coming home.

Those experiences are a major reason SauerPower exists today.

We may not be able to solve every challenge facing veteran mental health care, but we can make a difference.

We can help one more veteran get through the door.

We can fund one more counseling session.

We can support one more spouse or child.

We can remind one more veteran that asking for help isn’t weakness.

It takes strength. 💪

This ABC15 report isn’t just another headline to us.

This is our mission.

This is our purpose.

After months of searching... countless commercial properties... and absolutely zero negotiations... we're excited to announce that SPVEA has officially found its new headquarters!

📍 The former Salad and Go at the corner of Signal Butte & Guadalupe!

The building was already painted green... so we figured it was basically nonprofit-ready. 😎

Don't worry, though—we promise we're serving hope instead of salads and mental health support instead of ranch dressing. 🥗➡️❤️

Feel free to stop by anytime... although we should probably mention that this is 100% a joke (for now). 😅

But hey... if anyone happens to know who owns the building and wants to donate or lease it to a veteran nonprofit, our inbox is always open! 😉
