The report contains testimonials from officials of both parties who served in American government throughout the past half-century and covers topics like structural incentives in the electoral system, the toxic media environment, and the shifting roles and responsibilities of public servants. Addressing our National debt so we can ensure our entitlement programs remain solvent for future generations is one of the primary concerns of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB) - and establishing a dialogue so we can have these tough conversations is why FixUs exists in the first place.

I think Mitch Daniels strikes the right tone and he is a voice of reason on this subject, so I highly recommend reading this article.

It’s too late to preserve Social Security and Medicare in their current forms. Mitigating harm is the best we can hope for.
