Across the United States, convicted s*x offenders can become noncompliant with registration requirements—and some are classified as missing, absconded, or otherwise unaccounted for.
But who is holding them responsible?
Who makes sure they register?
Who verifies where they live?
Who knows when they move?
Who investigates when they disappear?
And who makes sure they answer for violating the orders imposed by the court?
A conviction should never be the end of accountability.
When a convicted predator disappears from the system, the question isn’t simply “Where did they go?”
The question is:
“Who is responsible for finding them?”
Our children deserve an answer.
En todo Estados Unidos, algunos delincuentes s*xuales condenados pueden dejar de cumplir con los requisitos de registro, y algunos son clasificados como desaparecidos, prófugos o de alguna otra manera no localizados.
Pero, ¿quién los hace responsables?
¿Quién se asegura de que se registren?
¿Quién verifica dónde viven?
¿Quién sabe cuándo se mudan?
¿Quién investiga cuando desaparecen?
¿Y quién se asegura de que respondan por violar las órdenes impuestas por el tribunal?
Una condena nunca debería ser el final de la rendición de cuentas.
Cuando un depredador s*xual condenado desaparece del sistema, la pregunta no es simplemente: “¿Dónde está?”
La pregunta es:
“¿Quién es responsable de encontrarlo?”
Nuestros niños merecen una respuesta.
