“Making State Government More Business Friendly”

Goal-An opportunity for Business Leaders to give input to State Senator Elect Gary Daniels and our State Representatives. A first step to improving dialog between businesses and State Government. Objective is to ensure leaders in Concord are hearing business concerns and creating laws or abolishing laws as needed. We will not have time to solve all our issues at a 90 minute forum but we can make sure that State Senator Elect Daniels and our State Representatives know where we need help. 7-830PM Matthew Thornton Conference Room

-Opening Remarks by Dan Dwyer and State Representative Phil Straight, including outlining process for input (being recognized, time limits etc…)
-State Senator Elect Gary Daniels gives overview some of the areas that he believes the legislature could work to improve the business climate and his plans to do so and then engages in receiving input on items listed below with Business Leaders and State Representatives
-Businesses Taxes –Can we reduce or eliminate these taxes?
-Workers Compensation Laws- How can it become less costly? How do we get more insurers to write policies? How can the State Pool be improved?
- Unemployment laws and taxes- How can they be improved?
- Labor Laws- How can they be improved?
- Energy Costs- What can be done at legislative level to reduce costs?
-Other Discussion.
-Possible Action Items for Senator Elect Daniels and State Representatives
-Closing remarks Mike Malzone
