May newsletter highlights
Greetings to all LCSC members, hopefully you are able to get out and enjoy the spring weather. Attendance at the range has been steady as our members take advantage of some of the nice days we have had. The Range is open 3 days weekly: Wednesdays 12-4pm, Fridays 8-12 and Sundays 12-4pm. Plus, various matches held each month that are suitable for many skill levels.
Special thanks to all those that helped during our spring clean-up day, the grounds and range look great. I would also like to thank all of our volunteers that helped us set up and run our range opening festivities. Our guided teddy bear hunts were a hit again, with the kids in attendance. This year we had not only bears but safari animals as well. If your future hunter was unable to attend in the spring we will be offering our teddy bear hunts again during the open house along with other activities for kids. So, save August 1 on your calendar.
Now on to the question, what do you want to see for 2027 General meetings?
We are looking at many options going forward. Options include reducing to quarterly meetings, seeking options for special guests’ speakers, a summer picnic and holding learning clinics or other hands-on events. These are just some options the board is looking at, but I want to hear from the membership on what meetings or activities that would be of interest to the members. Besides content, we are also considering alternative dates/times if Thursday evening is no longer the best day of the week for our members. Please shoot me an email with ideas or comments on future meetings that you would like to see or even if you don’t plan on attending meetings at all.

A Girl & A Gun-Central WI at LCSC!
The sports club recently hosted a fun “Queen of the Bullseye Bingo Night” in partnership with A Girl & A Gun Central WI, bringing women together for an evening of laughter, learning, and friendly competition. Participants enjoyed a creative twist on bingo with shooting-themed symbols that kept everyone engaged.
The event welcomed shooters of all experience levels, from beginners to seasoned participants. It was great to see camaraderie grow as attendees supported one another and celebrated wins - big and small.
At the end of the night, one participant was crowned the “Queen of the Bullseye,” earning bragging rights and a prize. Events like this highlight the club’s commitment to building community and promoting safe, enjoyable shooting experiences.
