🎯 LCSC Rimfire Shoot Recap – May 30th 🎯

A great day on the range at the Lincoln County Sports Club for our May Rimfire Shoot!

We had 15 shooters come out and compete through a variety of stages featuring steel targets from 25 to 100 yards. Competitors tested their skills on gongs, KYL racks, and creative stage setups using a range of props and shooting positions.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, helped set up, scored, and made the match run smoothly. It's always great to see both familiar faces and new shooters on the line.

We're looking forward to our next Rimfire Shoot on June 27th and hope to see even more shooters join us!

Free Fishing Weekend is June 6-7!

Wisconsin residents and out-of-state visitors can fish state waters without buying a fishing license, trout stamp or salmon stamp. However, please know all other fishing regulations, including bag limits, size limits and species restrictions, remain in effect.

There will be fishing clinics providing simple, hands-on instruction such as casting, knot tying, fish identification and basic fishing techniques for those new to this sport. Wisconsin DNR Tackle Loaner Sites located statewide has rods, reels and tackle for participants needing equipment.

May newsletter highlights

Greetings to all LCSC members, hopefully you are able to get out and enjoy the spring weather. Attendance at the range has been steady as our members take advantage of some of the nice days we have had. The Range is open 3 days weekly: Wednesdays 12-4pm, Fridays 8-12 and Sundays 12-4pm. Plus, various matches held each month that are suitable for many skill levels.

Special thanks to all those that helped during our spring clean-up day, the grounds and range look great. I would also like to thank all of our volunteers that helped us set up and run our range opening festivities. Our guided teddy bear hunts were a hit again, with the kids in attendance. This year we had not only bears but safari animals as well. If your future hunter was unable to attend in the spring we will be offering our teddy bear hunts again during the open house along with other activities for kids. So, save August 1 on your calendar.

Now on to the question, what do you want to see for 2027 General meetings?

We are looking at many options going forward. Options include reducing to quarterly meetings, seeking options for special guests’ speakers, a summer picnic and holding learning clinics or other hands-on events. These are just some options the board is looking at, but I want to hear from the membership on what meetings or activities that would be of interest to the members. Besides content, we are also considering alternative dates/times if Thursday evening is no longer the best day of the week for our members. Please shoot me an email with ideas or comments on future meetings that you would like to see or even if you don’t plan on attending meetings at all.

Feel free to contact me at:

Aim well and shoot safe,
Mike H.
