The Department of Texas VFW has successfully completed three days of comprehensive Member Training, bringing together from across the state:
-302 members representing
-23 Districts
-121 Posts

This training provided VFW leaders with valuable instruction and resources to strengthen their ability to serve Veterans, their families, and their communities. Throughout the three-day event, members participated in sessions covering Post and District operations, audits and inspections, bylaws and procedures, membership, youth programs, legislative activities, Veteran services, leadership development, and technology training through OMS, portals, and dashboards.

A special thank you to our distinguished guests who joined us and shared their expertise and commitment to the VFW mission:

We are grateful for their time, leadership, and dedication to helping strengthen the VFW at every level.

Thank you to Department Commander Benny Guerrero, Department Senior Vice Commander Reggie Williams, and Department Junior Vice Commander Marcey Phillips, along with the Department staff, leadership team, instructors, volunteers who worked to make this training a success, and members in attendance.
By investing in our leaders today, we continue building a stronger organization prepared to serve Veterans and their families for generations to come.

🇺🇸 The flag is more than fabric… it’s a promise. How we honor it says something about who we are.

Every fold, every stripe, and every star tells the story of Americans who answered the call to serve. For many veterans, that flag wasn’t just flown over a building—it flew over bases, battlefields, ships, and homecomings. It draped the caskets of heroes and stood watch over moments of both triumph and sacrifice.

Showing respect for the American flag doesn’t require grand gestures. It begins with simple acts:
⭐ Stand if you are able.
🎩 Remove your hat.
❤️ Place your hand over your heart.
🤫 Be silent.
📱 Put away distractions.

These traditions aren’t about obligation—they’re about gratitude.

At Taps for Veterans, we believe honoring our nation’s symbols and honoring those who defended them go hand in hand. Just as the flag represents the freedoms we enjoy, the live sounding of Taps is our nation’s final expression of thanks to those who served.
