🍎 Supporting Teachers. Strengthening Classrooms.

The Lauderdale County School District Foundation was proud to support our educators during today’s Instructional Coaches meeting! 📚✏️

Each elementary math coach received a math manipulative kit to support hands-on instruction and help bring math concepts to life for fellow teachers and students across LCSD.

The Foundation also provided a light breakfast for the meeting and a classroom supply door prize made possible by Kids First Education.

Investing in our teachers means investing in every student they serve. We’re grateful for opportunities to put resources directly into the hands of the educators making a difference each day!

🌟 FOUNDATION IMPACT SPOTLIGHT 🌟

When Mississippi’s Third Grade Literacy-Based Promotion Act placed 22 local students at risk of retention, the Lauderdale County School District Foundation stepped in alongside the Mississippi Children's Museum - Meridian, the Community Foundation of East Mississippi, and LCSD - Safety and Transportation Dept.

Through our Full-Day Foundations: Bridging Literacy and STEM initiative, we combined morning reading remediation with an afternoon of hands-on, high-energy exploration.

Instead of experiencing summer school as remediation-only, these 3rd graders became STEM Scholars and scientific explorers—building logic skills, conducting experiments, and melting away test anxiety in a world-class discovery setting.

✨ 90.9% Pass Rate: 20 out of 22 participating students passed their final 2026 re-test and were promoted to the 4th grade!

✨ Barrier-Free Access: 100% of student transportation and daily meals were covered to ensure equal opportunity for every family.

✨ Confidence Restored: Students returned to the classroom empowered, resilient, and ready to learn.

This is what happens when a community comes together to wrap its arms around our students.

But our work doesn't stop here! With $560 already committed toward our 2027 matching goal, we are actively expanding to ensure no student is left behind.

We love seeing students from all across Lauderdale County experience all forms of the arts, and this collaboration with Jimmie Rodgers Festival and Museum brings such rich history, too.

​This two-day strategic planning meeting is where campus leaders map out goals, align vision, and prepare for an incredible school year ahead.

❓️Did you know that local nonprofit and community partner Junior Auxiliary of Meridian, MS answers the call when our school counselors, nurses, social workers, and administrators reach out about a student:

👕 in need of a school uniform,
🧼 in need of personal hygiene items,
🕶 in need of prescription eye exams and eyeglasses, or
📛 experiences a tragedy such as a house fire or flood

📞 From that first call to in-person delivery to the campus in need, LCSD students are served quickly, confidentially, and with care from our community.

ALL FOUR ZONES. ONE DISTRICT. NATIONAL STAGE. 🌍✨

​We are thrilled to announce that the LCSD Foundation has voted to fund 11 phenomenal Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) students from Clarkdale High School, Northeast Lauderdale High School, Southeast Lauderdale High School, West Lauderdale Middle School, and West Lauderdale as they head to Nationals in San Antonio!

​This investment represents the core of our Theory of Change: directly supporting students. This support is removing financial barriers so students can unlock their leadership potential and represent LCSD at the highest level.

​A huge congratulations to all 11 national qualifiers, including Northeast High’s Marquavious Sillimon, who will also be serving as the Mississippi FBLA State Secretary! 💼
