We are honored to share that the Meridian Library Foundation has been awarded a $35,000 Education Grant from the Idaho Women's Charitable Foundation to support the Meridian Library District's First Books program.

First Books provides storytimes and free books to preschool, kindergarten, and developmental preschool students, helping children build literacy skills and create home libraries. For many participants, these are among the first books they own.

The IWCF grant process is highly competitive and includes a detailed application, site visits, interviews, and multiple rounds of review. Finalists are presented to the membership, where more than 400 IWCF members learn about the organizations and projects before voting on the final grant recipients.

We are deeply grateful to the Idaho Women's Charitable Foundation and its members for their support of early literacy and young readers in our community.
