Sometimes, Search and Rescue volunteers, whether teams or individuals, arrive on the scene, assess the conditions, and decide not to proceed.

Factors such as weather, currents, visibility, and hazards can change quickly. Once you're in the water, there’s little room for poor decisions.

This work isn’t about proving anything. It’s about doing it right and ensuring that everyone returns home safely.

Knowing when to step back is just as crucial as knowing when to move forward.
