🌟 Collect Cans, Make an Impact! 🌟

Hello, Meridian community! Welcome to Cans for Kids Children's Ministry, a non-profit organization on a mission to create a brighter future for our local children. And guess what? We've found a unique way to do it – by collecting empty soda and beer cans for recycling and turning them into support for the kids! ♻️πŸ₯€πŸ»

Here's how you can join our recycling revolution:

Start Collecting Cans: Gather those empty soda and beer cans from your home, your neighbors, or even your workplace. Every can counts!

Drop-Off Locations: We have convenient drop-off locations around Meridian where you can bring your collected cans. Call Gary Turbville at 601-513-0805 to find the closest drop-off point.

Recycle for a Cause: By recycling these cans, you're not only helping the environment but also making a direct impact on the lives of children in need.

Your cans can be transformed into funds that support essential programs, supplies, and resources for local kids. 🌟

Let's make our community a better place one can at a time! Spread the word, get your friends and family involved, and help us collect cans for a great cause. Together, we can create a brighter future for our children right here in Meridian. πŸŒžπŸ’š

Thank you for your support and commitment to Cans for Kids! πŸ™

Gary Turbville, founder and chief executive officer for the Cans for Kids Chidren's Ministries, is quick to dole out accolades and thanks to the many sponsors who since 1995 have contributed to the success of the ministry in helping children.

Now, the ministry has grown to the point where Turbville is having to ask for assistance again, this time in the form of some kind of truck to help pick up the growing number of cans being contributed to the charity.

"We need a truck to help pickup the bags of cans we are getting," Turbville said Friday. "The number of contributors we've gotten has steadily grown and we certainly appreciate their help but at the same time we are needing another vehicle so we can get these cans picked up and carried to sell for the kids."

Turbville said any old truck would do. If someone wants to donate one or do a tax right off sort of deal then that would be fine with him.

"We have more volunteers than we do vehicles so in order to pick up all the cans we need to we must have another truck," Turbville said.

Turbville noted that the number of stops to pick up cans has increased over the past couple of years. That is good news as he noted the fund depleted with helping children afford school uniforms and to put food on the table needs to be built back up for the upcoming Christmas holiday season.

Last year the organization helped 174 children for Christmas and Turbville said he hopes to bring that number up to 200 this year. He said it is crucial for his organization to start early but to do so it needs another vehicle.

If you want to help, you can call Turbville at 601-513-0805, or if you would like to send a monetary donation, mail it to Cans for Kids Chidren's Ministry, 10898 Gilbert Joyner Road, Meridian, MS, 39305.
