✨️TOPIC UPDATE✨️

Yesterday, the Idaho Breastfeeding Coalition sent out an email to all of our IBC friends letting you all know that we will have the privilege of hearing from Betsy Church, BSC, IBCLC as she shares about the cow's milk research she had done at the University of Idaho next week on Thursday October 1st for our quarterly IBC Friend meeting.

After further conversation with her, she has updated her topic to share with us her newest research on human milk!

Betsy Church is a PhD student in Nutrition Sciences at the University of Idaho, where her research focuses on human milk and mammary gland biology. Her research spans both human and bovine lactation, including the effects of processing and storage on bioactive components of human milk and changes in the bovine mammary microbiome associated with Staphylococcus aureus mastitis. Her broader interests include lactation science, maternal and infant nutrition, and using comparative mammary research to better understand mammary health and function.

She currently works with the wic program in Boise, Idaho and has a background is biomedical research and healthcare data analytics.
