Nominations are now open for our annual awards! These will be presented to the recipients at the 2026 Idaho breastfeeding summit. Nominate an individual or a group at https://www.idahobreastfeeding.org/awards

Categories are :
Individual Award: The Dr. Jane Grassley Excellence in Breastfeeding Award
This award is to acknowledge an IBCLC who has shown exceptional and significant dedication and leadership throughout their career in promoting, supporting, and protecting breastfeeding and breaking down the barriers in Idaho.

Group Award: Exemplary Professional Leadership Award
This award recognizes a team of professionals, business or employer who has shown exceptional dedication, creativity, and exemplary leadership in facilitating environments where barriers to breastfeeding are addressed within their community.

*NEW AWARD CATEGORY*
Trailblazer Award: New IBCLC Doing Amazing Things
This award is to acknowledge an IBCLC who is new to the profession and has shown exceptional interest and innovation in lactation care and in changing their community landscape or culture of breastfeeding to promote, support, and protect breastfeeding and break down the barriers in Idaho.

We are thrilled to welcome Josephine as the newest Idaho Breastfeeding Coalition Board member!!

She currently works with the wic program in Boise, Idaho and has a background is biomedical research and healthcare data analytics.

We are sad to say goodbye to 3 incredible board members.

✨️Mary Kay resigned in the fall last year and we missed the opportunity to thank her during that time. She served on the board for many years and helped shape the IBC in many ways, helping to create a solid foundation.

✨️Kristie also served as a board member for many years and made many wonderful connections for the IBC. She resigned in April and has played a big role this year helping to plan and prepare for this year's summit by organizing an incredible line up for speakers.

✨️Caitlin was able to serve for a few years and her shape eye and attention to detail helped things run smoothly.

We wish each of these incredible past board members well and thank them for all that they have been able to contribute!

After this Burley deputy returned from maternity leave, she said she started receiving "some pretty embarrassing comments about me breastfeeding and me having to go to the bathroom to pump."
