Conservation Grant Writing Workshop
Learn how to write grants to fund your conservation projects! From where to find grants to how to put together a proposal, this comprehensive class is interesting and informative. It is open to everyone, but there will be a conservation focus to the program.
This workshop is presented by Tom Bicak, a national award-winning historic preservationist, park creator, and President of the Southwest Idaho Resource Conservation and Development Council. Nichole Schwend, Director of Canyon County Parks, Cultural and Natural Resources, and a professional Archaeologist. Alex Ells, Outdoor Recreation Planner for Canyon County who is currently creating, funding, and managing numerous projects in southwest Idaho.
There are six topics addressed in the workshop:
• Do I need a grant? Or something else? A case study of the Historic Guffey Bridge.
• Where is the money? We will tell you where to find all the grants available to you.
• Justifying your request. How to ask and answer the question, why?
• Writing the winning narrative.
• Can I do this alone? Who else supports this project? And how to get more support.
• Budgeting for scope and the grant request reviewer’s eyes.
