ILLUMINATIONS CENTER FOR DYSLEXIA ANNOUNCES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Meridian, MS – April 30, 2026
The Illuminations Center for Dyslexia is proud to announce the appointment of Stephanie Davidson as the new Executive Director, marking an exciting new chapter in the organization’s continued growth and impact across Meridian and beyond.
Davidson returns home to Meridian to assume this leadership role bringing with extensive experience in nonprofit leadership and community advocacy through her work with Mississippi Center for Justice. A longtime collaborator and supporter of Illuminations, she steps into the position with a deep understanding of the organization’s mission and a strong commitment to the families it serves.
“I am honored to lead Illuminations Center for Dyslexia and to build on the incredible foundation that has been established,” said Davidson. “This organization has changed the lives of so many children and families, and I am excited to continue that work in the community I call home.”
Founder and current Executive Director Leta Palmiter will transition into a strategic leadership role within the organization, focusing on the expansion of Vertical Take-Off Reading (VTO), an innovative platform designed to scale high-quality, individualized reading practice for students. Palmiter will remain actively involved in the organization’s mission and long-term vision.
“This transition allows us to grow in a way that strengthens both our direct services and our ability to reach more students,” said Palmiter. “Stephanie brings the leadership, experience, and heart needed to guide Illuminations into its next phase.”
Under Davidson’s leadership, Illuminations will continue its commitment to providing individualized, research-based instruction for students with dyslexia and related learning differences, while expanding its reach through community partnerships, professional development, and innovative technology.
“Our focus remains the same,” Davidson added. “We are here to ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.”
