The Friends of Mississippi Veterans invite you to join with us as we honor our veterans on this Veteran’s Day. These pictures just a few of the Veterans we honor on this day. We are so proud on the Veterans some of which are no longer and those who are still here .
In my own family it was my brothers Edgar Elmo, Wilbur and Arlo . My brother in law’s Pat Posey and Mondell Adkins . My father in laws William Gilmore and Troy Cain. Thank you all for you services. Make a special effort this Veterans Day to thank a Veteran.

On October 14 and 15 we had two great days at our annual golf classic and s***t shoot . We had almost 100 teams in the two events. At the noontime program at Providence Hill with a large crowd present we were honored to have Colonel Thomas Collins as our spotlight Veteran. Colonel Collins spent more than seven years as P O W .
Also a new van was given to the Oxford V A Nursing Home . This is the third Van that Friends of Mississippi Veterans has provided for the State owned V A Homes . We will provide two more which will have one at each of the five homes . This is made possible by the golf classic and s***t shoots each year . Also donations are always welcome . About Our Organization

Friends of Mississippi Veterans (FOMV) was established in 2007 as a support organization for the state’s veterans. Our initial project was to spearhead the effort to establish the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemeteries in Newton and Kilmichael. Now that those facilities are in full operation, FOMV has turned its efforts toward care of veterans in the four Mississippi veterans nursing homes. We also take part in Wreaths Across America, a national program that honors deceased veterans by adorning each of their graves with Christmas wreaths in December.
