Holy Crop!! Look what your change just did!!

We are absolutely STOKED to share a major update! ✨ Because of the amazing Boise Co-op and every single one of YOU who said "YES" to rounding up your change, Idaho Giving Garden is growing!

We are officially building our new greenhouse, on June 5th, and adding more raised garden beds to increase harvest yields. 🥔🍅🥬🫜🥕

What does this mean for the Meridian Food Bank?

✅ More fresh, nutritious veggies (year-round!)

✅ More families supported

Today, Wednesday Nov 12th at 11:30, the Idaho Foodbank will be distributing free food to those in need, at the Ford Idaho Center. No requirements to receive the food.

On Wednesday at 11:30 a.m., the Idaho Foodbank is set to distribute food for free to those in need. There are no requirements to get the food.

The 2025 harvest season has come to an end!

The Giving Garden donated 121.6 pounds of potatoes, green beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, and yellow squash to the Meridian Food Bank and Living Word Church, providing approximately 325- 3/4 cup servings.

Our sincere appreciation goes to our donors, whose charitable support has been crucial to our endeavors, and to our volunteers, who have contributed their time and energy to develop new raised garden beds, plant seeds, and harvest the produce.

For spring and summer 2026, we aim to expand our growing space by adding 200 square feet of garden beds and construct a greenhouse.

The garden has been buzzing!🐝 We added 100 SQFT of growing space for a total of 540 SQFT and planted over 400 vegetable seeds and 300+ flower seeds. We now have 26 different species of flowers & herbs to attract pollinators.

Our 2025 summer vegetable harvests for the Meridian Food Bank are: 4 varieties of potatoes (Kennebec, Vivaldi, Desiree, & Masquerade,) Blue Lake bush beans, Kentucky Blue pole beans, Straight eight cucumbers, & slicing tomatoes (Champion, Super Fantastic, Big Boy Burpee.)

Thank you to our donors! We appreciate your continued support helping us achieve our mission goal of providing nutritious vegetables for the patrons of the Meridian Food Bank!
