💔 This morning brought heartbreaking news about Penelope.

Penelope has been in foster care recovering from severe kennel cough, but overnight, everything changed. She suffered a terrifying respiratory episode and began foaming blood. Her foster rushed her to the ER, where X-rays showed that her lungs are severely compromised.

She is now in critical care inside an oxygen chamber, struggling to breathe. 😭🐾

The vets are still trying to determine what is causing this. It could be pneumonia, a mass, cancer, or a fungal infection. Her initial vet bill has already exceeded $2,000, and the costs are expected to rise.

Penelope is fighting for her life, and right now, she needs us more than ever. 🙏❤️

Please don’t scroll past Max. His throat/neck has become painfully swollen, and based on what we’re seeing on the ground, we strongly suspect an abscess or infected wound. The swelling may be caused by a pocket of infection and pus beneath the skin, creating intense pain and making it difficult for him to rest, eat, or swallow comfortably.

For the past three nights, Max has barely been able to sleep because of the pain. 💔 He desperately needs veterinary treatment before this infection spreads and his condition becomes life-threatening.

🩺 Estimated emergency treatment needs:
• Veterinary examination & diagnostics — $100
• Sedation and abscess drainage/cleaning — $250
• Antibiotics & anti-inflammatory/pain medication — $180
• Wound care & medications — $120
• Fluids/supportive care — $100
