MAGnet was recognized in 2020 by the AMA/AHA for their 2019 data participation in the Target BP, Check. Change. Control. Cholesterol and Type 2 Diabetes initiatives. These initiatives are dedicated to improve blood pressure control, quality of care through awareness, detection and management of high cholesterol and lowering type 2 diabetes in adults. In the Target BP and Type 2 Diabetes category, MAGnet received participation certificates. In the category of Check. Change. Control. Cholesterol, MAGnet received Gold recognition. MAGnet received with the certificates, a plaque with a bronze coin to signify MAGnet's hard work and effort to ensure we are reducing cardiovascular diseases within our community and state.

MAGnet Health Care Awareness

MAGnet cohort brought awareness to their communities in the month of February by recognizing initiatives such as but not limited to "Go Red Day" that brings to the prevalence of CVD, heart attack and strokes within our communities. Many faculty and staff decorated doors and tables, wore red, and disseminated information to organizations, agencies and facilities.

About the Organization
The Mississippi Access Group Network (MAGnet) is a Coalition chartered as a corporation in 2011. The coalition consists of five community health centers and other affiliated members. The five community health centers have more than 100 years of combined experience in serving the poor, disadvantaged, underserved, and uninsured in Mississippi. MAGnet serves approximately 126,000 patients in 21 counties, annually. The mission is to strengthen the collaboration and coordination to improve health access, performance, outcomes, and cost efficiencies.
