Meriden Mineral Club The OFFICIAL page of the LMSCC (aka Meriden Mineral Club) a non-profit group for all Rockhounds and folks who like minerals, lapidary, and Nature's beauty.

LMSCC (aka Meriden Mineral Club) is a non-profit group dedicated to the promotion, study, and encouragement of interest in rocks, minerals, gems, fossils, meteorites, and lapidary arts through monthly meetings, lectures, discussions, field trips, and educational events. We are a member organization of the Eastern Federation of Mineralogical & Lapidary Societies (EFMLS), and the American Federation

of Mineralogical Societies (AFMS). Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the above topics.

We had a great turnout and wonderful weather today for our annual Bristol / Meriden clubs Multi-club picnic! I think everyone filled their bellies & filled their boxes & boxes with rocks & mineral specimens that were for sale.. Calcite w/ Chalcopyrite & Marcasite
From: Brushy Creek Mine, Greeley, Reynolds County, Missouri, USA

Brushy Creek Mine is world-renowned for its distinct, large, gray to semi-translucent scalenohedral calcite crystals often showcasing visible phantoms or "ghost" crystals.
These calcites are frequently coated with chalcopyrite, creating striking metallic, green, blue, and/or red-bronze sparkled effects. They are also accompanied by marcasite, adding a pale brass-yellow, tin-white and/or blue/rainbow hues.
