Girls Inc. of Meriden Inspiring all girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold! The organization serves girl’s ages 2 through 18, reaching out to over 1,500 girls each year.

Girls Incorporated of Meriden, established on September 19, 1919, inspires all girls to be Strong, Smart, and Bold. With over ninety years experience serving young women in central Connecticut area, Girls Incorporated is the premier all girl environment that guides young women through self-discovery with program based curriculum. Girls Incorporated empowers girls to know that they have a right to

be themselves, to express themselves with originality and enthusiasm, to take risks, to strive freely and to take pride in success, to accept and enjoy the bodies they were born with and not to feel pressured to compromise their health in order to satisfy the dictates of an “ideal” physical image, to be free of vulnerability and self-doubt and to develop as mentally and emotionally sound individuals, and to prepare for interesting work and economic independence.

Memorable moments from our gymnastics team at the last month!
🥇 Maddie, Anna, Sonia (Bronze level), Brooke (Silver level), Annabelle, and Hananiah (Gold level) earned 1st place all around in their age division
🌟 Anna, Leila, Sonia (Bronze), Brooke (Silver), Natalie, Annabelle, Hananiah (Gold) made the Regional Team (top 3 event scores of the session)

To our gymnasts who finished their season here, we are so proud of all you’ve accomplished this year. To our gymnasts preparing to travel to Tennessee for the later this month, good luck! You’ve got this! 💪💥

Did you know? 🤸☀️ camp isn't the only thing happening at Girls Inc. this season! We offer summer gymnastics programs running June 29-August 14. These are separate from camp and include options for both recreational participants and team gymnasts.

Even better, this is our first summer with air conditioning in the gym! ❄️ We'll be keeping cool while staying active, building skills, and having fun all season long.

A look back on our Team's accomplishments at last month!
🧹 Anna (Bronze level) achieved a clean sweep (1st place on every event and all-around) and broke the Girls Inc. score record with a massive 38.85
🇺🇸 Sonia (Bronze) earned 1st place all-around and the All-American award (highest all around score of the session)
🔟 Penny (Bronze) earned Girls Inc.’s first-ever perfect 10 on uneven bars
🏆 Maddie (Bronze) earned 1st place all-around
🥈 Bronze Team earned 2nd place
🥉 Gold Team earned 3rd place

🎉We're honored to be a 2026 Cox Charities Grant Recipient!
Thanks to the support of Cox employees, we'll be able to introduce our "Gear Girls" Machining and Engineering Program, an initiative allowing girls ages 9–12 to explore machining, engineering, and technical trades in a hands-on, engaging way while introducing them to career pathways they may not have otherwise considered.
This grant helps us deepen our impact and continue building a stronger,
more equitable community.

What a special night at our End-of-Year Celebration last week! ✨ We honored some of our incredible members + volunteers and enjoyed a dance adaptation of "Annie" performed by some of our Afterschool and Evening Experience participants. 🏆🎭

We're so proud of all our awardees and want to give a special shoutout to the volunteers from our Parent Advisory Council, 2026 “Girl of the Year” Brooke Ortega, and 2026 Maureen Bilger Scholarship Award recipient Madison Lionello. 🥳

Thank you to all the families who came out to support, and to all of our school year participants for continuing to grow with us every day! 🙌

Last week’s Family event brought all ages together for an afternoon of movement, energy, and fun! Participants enjoyed dancing along and later got creative by making their own delicious and nutritious yogurt parfaits. Special thanks to our wonderful instructor, Angel Roman, for making this Zumba session one to remember!
