We had such an amazing time at the WFC Walk for Hope to End Homelessness this past Sunday! This year, all donations for the event go toward supporting Project REACH’s Robyn’s House, WFC’s transitional living program for homeless youth.

Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and community members, this year’s walk brought over 150 walkers and raised over $20,000!

The SACS team is so grateful to have been part of this WFC tradition and look forward to next year!

The work to prevent sexual violence continues beyond April. As we celebrate 25 years of SAAM, we remain committed to supporting survivors and strengthening prevention in our communities.

WFC has been a pillar of support for individuals in need long before the establishment of SAAM, and we hope to continue this important work for many years to come!

Every voice matters. Every action counts.

We believe you.

April is not only Sexual Assault Awareness Month, but also Child Abuse Prevention Month! Pinwheels for Prevention is a nationally recognized campaign to promote child abuse prevention through awareness and community action.

At WFC, we strive to provide advocacy and support for child survivors of sexual violence. This month, we look forward to coming together with community partners at the Pinwheels for Prevention event hosted by the South Central Child Advocacy Center at University of New Haven next Tuesday, 4/28 at 1:00 pm!

For the remainder of April, WFC will have pinwheels planted in the ground outside of our main offices. They look so beautiful when the wind blows!

As we mark 25 years of SAAM, we look ahead to the future of prevention and the next generation of leaders working to end sexual violence.

At the Women and Families Center, we remain committed to strengthening prevention, supporting survivors, and building communities free from sexual violence.

Our work is possible with the dedication and support of our community members! Help us support and uplift survivors by donating at the link in our bio. Every contribution helps us to continue providing advocacy services for survivors across Middlesex County and the Greater New Haven Area!

We are so grateful to everyone who came to support our SAAM Vigil last week! A huge shoutout to the survivors who shared their experiences with sexual violence. Their strength continues to inspire us!

Congratulations to all of our honorees who were recognized for their contributions to sexual violence victim advocacy and trauma-informed support. We are lucky to have had the opportunity to acknowledge the dedication of service providers in law enforcement, higher education, child advocacy, addiction recovery, and medical care!

Special thanks to Colleen Kearney, Coordinator of VPAS at SCSU and our incredible team of advocates! Shoutout to Jen Fournier, Executive Director of the Women and Family Life Center, who came out to support us and won a WFC SACS sweatshirt! Check out their post about our vigil W&FLC

Survivors’ voices have always been central to the movement to end sexual violence. Listening to and believing survivors helps create communities rooted in support and respect. This week, we recognize the strength and leadership survivors bring to this movement.

Join the Women and Families Center to honor those who contribute to sexual violence victim advocacy and uplift the voices of survivors! This year’s vigil will be hosted at the SCSU School of Business on Thursday, April 9, at 5 pm.

Check out our story for more event information! Interested in sharing your art at our vigil? Submit artwork, writing, and more at the link in our bio.
