PLEASE SHARE! Demand for our pet food pantry has been up and unfortunately our food donations coming in have drastically decreased! We will have to close our pet food pantry temporarily if we do not have food to be able to give away. Our own stocks of food are starting to decrease as well.
If you are able to donate dog/cat food, we can accept any brands/types. Food can be dropped off at our shelter any time at 311 Murdock Ave Meriden, CT 06450. When dropping off donations, please make sure to bring them to the right side of the building where it says Animal Control/Saving Paws.

*REUNITED!*

Final update!! Foreign has been found. She was found by someone last night and they called Animal Control. Family is headed over to be reunited very shortly. Thank you for all that cared and shared. Thank you to Meriden Animal Control, Officer Bacon, her diligence with reuniting Foreign with her family. Thank you to CTDGRV Carol for her support and guidance. Welcome home sweet pup!

UPDATE: Together Desmonds Army, CT Dog Gone Recovery Volunteers, and Meriden Animal Control are issuing the following statement regarding the ESA French Bulldog that is missing from Meriden.
The family misses and just want their ESA dog home. This emotional support dog is very important to a child. Social media and posters will go up in the area today. The dog was last seen on 8/30 at about 6 PM. If anyone knows the whereabouts of this dog two options are being offered to the public: If anyone knows the whereabouts of this dog, and the person who has possession of this dog and does not call either the family or Meriden Animal Control to return the dog, a reward of $5000 will be awarded to the person who provides the information to Meriden Animal Control that lead arrest and prosecution for theft of a dog. If the person who has possession of the dog returns the dog to the family or Meriden Animal Control voluntarily there will not be any legal consequences. The family does offer a $500 reward for the safe return. We ask everyone to share this notice.

Missing in Meriden. This dog is a child’s emotional support dog that disappear from their fenced in yard around 6PM on Aug 30th. The dog was out for only a few moments when the family realized he was not in the yard. They rapidly did a search of the area but could not find her. She is wearing a collar which looks slightly different from the one in this photo and no tags. The family is offering a $500 REWARD for the safe return of their dog. No questions asked. Please everyone in this area check your security cameras around PM to see if you see the dog on camera. Check your yards and under decks as well. This is a very loved ESA dog and needs to be found. Please share

All donations can be dropped off anytime to Meriden Animal Control at 311 Murdock Ave Meriden, CT. Even if we are not here, you can leave bags by our garage door. Pick up can be arranged for Meriden Residents!

*PUPPY BOY BUSTER BROWN IS LOOKING FOR HIS FOREVER FAMILY!* PLEASE SHARE!

Meet our hefty puppy boy named Buster Brown! He is about 4 months old and he came to our shelter after city staff found him wandering in a large park in town all alone. Buster is a very friendly and outgoing boy who just absolutely loves being with people! We really do not know what breed mix he is, but we think he could have some muscular bully breed in him. He currently weighs about 35 lbs and he definitely has some growing to do! Buster Brown is a good eater and we believe he is a very trainable boy. Early on from coming to us he showed us that he much prefers to relieve himself outside. Buster is a very young puppy who will need a patient family that is willing to put in the time and effort it takes to train a puppy. Currently he will still try to mount your leg, but he is learning to listen to correction. He is still a mouthy boy, but putting a toy in his mouth helps with this. Buster Brown in good with other dogs and he can go to a home with children 12 years old and older who have experience with larger dogs.
He is neutered, rabies vaccinated, and microchipped.

Our smiley girl Mocha has found her forever home! Mocha and her new dad hit it off immediately and we know they'll be best friends forever! He plans on taking Mocha on many hikes and adventures and of course her favorite activity, swimming! We're so happy for you Mocha 💖

*TALKATIVE BOY LINCOLN WANTS A HOME OF HIS OWN!* PLEASE SHARE!

Meet our sweet and talkative boy named Lincoln! Lincoln came to our shelter after a resident found him wandering outside, and they noticed he appeared to be sick. They called us asking for help. We were able to get Lincoln to our vet and have him treated for an upper respiratory infection. While in our vet's care, everyone noticed how friendly Lincoln was. Due to this and no one coming to claim him as their own, he is now looking for a forever family! Lincoln is a nice boy who likes to explore. He absolutely loves food and will meow longingly when it is meal time. He is only a fan of clay type litter and does not like pellet litter. Lincoln is fine being picked up and moved. Although he is FIV positive, he has shown to be friendly with other cats and he has not tried fighting with anyone. We think he would be okay in a home with a cat savvy dog.

*Lincoln's Special Needs*: Lincoln tested positive for FIV. He originally came to us as an intact stray and likely got bitten by another intact male. FIV cats can live long, healthy lives, and they can live with non FIV positive cats. FIV is only spread through deep bite wounds. We have seen Lincoln interact with other cats here and he was not aggressive towards them at all. He is now neutered. Due to this, his adoption fee has been waived.

Meet are goofy blue tri color boy named Mac! Mac is about 10 months old and he was surrendered to our shelter after his owner had to move and could not take him with them. Mac is a friendly and outgoing dog who loves to be with people! He is a strong young pup, but he is very food motivated and will sit politely for a treat. Mac loves to play with squeaky toys and will chase after them if you throw them for him. He is a happy guy who would love a forever family! Mac used to be a regular at the dog park and he is good with other dogs. He can still be jumpy/mouthy, and he tries to be dominant at times, but he listens to stern correction. Mac loves to wander around with a tennis ball in his mouth and tries to fit multiple in if he can. He can go to a home with children 16 years old and older who have experience with bigger dogs.
