The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 478 Training Center provides Heavy Equipment Operator and Heavy Equipment Mechanic training through our 4 year apprenticeship program. We also provide skill improvement training for our current members. Equipment training includes operation of:
Bulldozer, wheel loader, skid steer, roller, backhoe, forklift, excavator, combination machine, crane,
CDL A and CDL B vehicles. Mechanic training includes: diesel engine, power train, hydraulic, electrical systems. The training school also provides our members with valuable and necessary courses in health and safety training including, OSHA 10, OSHA 30, Disaster Site Worker, and HAZWOPER. We also provide training for a number of other relevant skills such as welding, hoisting license, rigging, signal person and blue print reading.
