Meriden Black Expo

Meriden Black Expo On Friday, May 19th at 5:30 PM at the Augusta Cultural Center, the 2017 Black Expo Committee will host a commemorative reception to honor the founders!

Over 25 years ago, the Meriden Black Expo was founded by a group of community leaders who wanted to celebrate and share African Diaspora culture and traditions with the Meriden community. Through the years, the Meriden Black Expo has sought to reflect the spirit of African-American life, music, history and culture while recognizing the cultural diversity and inclusiveness across all races, ethnici

ties, nationalities, generations, socioeconomic levels and religious affiliations within our community. Undeniably, the Black Expo has been a signature venue to honor the mission of promoting creativity, educational achievement, entrepreneurship and community awareness in and about the African-American community while showcasing the amazing history, culture and accomplishments of African people in this country and around the world. In celebration of this milestone anniversary, on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 5:30 PM at the Augusta Cultural Center, the 2017 Black Expo Committee will host a commemorative reception to honor the founders and past chairpersons of the Meriden Black Expo events. This celebration will also mark a renewed commitment to continue with the tradition of hosting dynamic and culturally rich Black Expo events in Meriden for years to come. We hope you and your family and friends will join us in our jubilant celebration to recognize the 25th Anniversary of the Meriden Black Expo!
