The Meredith Lions have been busy lately. Mother's Day weekend Lions Marie Valliere , Margaret and Bob Maney attended the District 44-H convention in North Conway. Distinct Governor Marie presided over the event filled with laughter and learning mixed with fun and fellowship.. Saturday night District Governor Marie along with visiting guest speaker International Director David Wentworth from Omaha, Nebraska presented an International President's Medal to Lion Bob Maney. This is the second highest award in Lionism and is given to a Lion who shows leadership, loyalty and dedication to Lions and follows the motto, "We Serve". Bob has been a Lion for 40 years and lives this theme everyday. Congratulations, Bob.

Continuing with the service motto, five members traveled to Merrymeeting Lake in New Durham a few days later to work on prepping the Meredith Lions WOKQ bunkhouse at Lions Camp Pride. Windows got washed. floors got cleaned, the bathroom got scrubbed down and the bright curtains got hung. Bob and Jeff did work on the outside and Margaret, Sherrie and Marie did inside chores. While there District Governor Marie finished some business from the convention by having two trees planted in memory of members of the Sandown club who had passed away this past year. Their legacy will live on as a living tribute and environmental reminder of their service.
