This morning our department proudly participated in this year’s Law Enforcement Run for Special Olympics New Hampshire. Lt. McLaughlin and Officer Bassett led the group on the police motorcycles while MPD officers, Trooper Ingram, and Rosie joined in for the run.

Rosie’s official review of the event: she had fun, but she’s not ready to commit to long-distance running just yet. 🐾

During National Police Week, we want to recognize the men and women of Meredith PD, along with the officers we work beside throughout our surrounding agencies.

Thank you for the long hours, missed holidays, difficult calls, and the commitment you continue to show your communities every single day. The work is not always seen or understood, but it matters deeply to the people who count on you most. Your professionalism, patience, camaraderie and ability to show up day after day — no matter what the shift brings — does not go unnoticed.

We’re proud to recognize one member who really stepped up and said, “I’ll do it all.”

Congratulations to Comfort Dog Rosie 🐾

This month, Rosie has:
✔️ Taken over the motorcycle unit (driving better than Officer Rob)
✔️ Logged flight hours in the drone program
✔️ Conducted thorough accident investigations (we’re still working on her report writing skills)
✔️ Shown an elite commitment to unbiased pup cup and donut testing
✔️ Begun working with the State on a project plan to remove the Town Docks crosswalk entirely

Frankly… she’s outperforming half the department.

The Meredith Police Department would like to welcome our newest full-time officer, Josh Tyrrell.

Josh joins us from the New Hampton Police Department, where he worked his way through the ranks and served as Chief of Police for the past 5 ½ years. He brings with him over 11 years of law enforcement experience, leadership, and a strong commitment to community policing.

We are excited to have Josh as part of our team and look forward to the experience and perspective he brings to Meredith.

Even though she’s only been with the school full time for a month, comfort dog Rosie has already made a big impact — bringing smiles, calm moments, and plenty of tail wags to students and staff.

Officer True, along with members of the Inter-Lakes staff and students, are proudly joining forces to brave the cold and show their commitment to inclusion, community, and the incredible athletes of the Special Olympics. 💙

Today we’re proud to recognize and thank our amazing School Resource Officers, Officer True and Officer Nedeau, for everything they do—both inside and far beyond the school day.

These two consistently take their commitment to the next level. From coaching school sports, organizing and supporting yearly fundraisers, jumping into community traditions like the Winni Dip, and showing up on their own time for school events, they continually prove that their dedication doesn’t stop when the bell rings.

Most recently, Officer Rob went even further by implementing a comfort dog program—bringing an extra layer of support, compassion, and connection to our students and staff. 🦮🐾

Officer True and Officer Nedeau are more than a presence in the hallways—they are mentors, coaches, advocates, and role models who genuinely care about our school community. We are incredibly grateful for their commitment to keeping our students and staff safe while building meaningful relationships every step of the way. 💙🐾👮‍♂️
