Today on our way into The WOW Center, we saw a mother sitting in a parking lot in the rain, her bags surrounding her as she held her daughter and cried. She had nowhere to go and had lost hope.

We were already on our way inside, but something in our hearts said turn back. What started as an ordinary moment became a holy interruption.

Her story is one we are hearing more and more — moms and dads doing everything right, yet somehow it still isn’t enough.

So we did what we knew we had to do.

We brought her and her daughter into The WOW Center. Tonight, she and her family will sleep under a roof, in their own beds, with food in their fridge — surrounded by dignity, love, mercy, compassion, and most importantly, hope.

Through tears she kept saying,
“God heard my prayers. He sent you. He sent angels.”

And we were reminded of something powerful:
Jesus had not forgotten her. Even today, He had a plan for her.

Sometimes hope shows up in the most unexpected places — even in a parking lot in the rain.

Fridays are for strength, movement, and community at The WOW Center!

Our 55+ Fitness Class continues to be such a beautiful reminder that strength has no age. Week after week, these incredible women show up ready to move, laugh, encourage one another, and invest in their health and well-being.

A special thank you to our amazing volunteer facilitator who faithfully leads this group and creates such a welcoming and empowering space for these women to stay active and connected.

We are so proud of this strong, vibrant community of women who prove that it’s never too late to prioritize your health, build friendships, and have fun while doing it!

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”
— Proverbs 31:25

Every Wednesday at The WOW Center, something special happens.

Our high school volunteers (not all pictured) show up faithfully to serve our community during our weekly food pantry distribution. Week after week, these incredible young people give their time, energy, and compassion to help ensure families are welcomed, cared for, and supported.

They pack bags, carry boxes, greet guests with smiles, and most importantly, they serve with hearts full of love. Watching the next generation step up to serve others reminds us that hope is alive and well.

We are so proud of these students who choose service, kindness, and community. Their dedication is a beautiful reflection of what it means to live out our faith — loving our neighbors and serving with humility.

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12

Small acts of love make a big impact…

A young volunteer walking beside an elderly neighbor, helping carry her groceries after our food pantry distribution.

This is what happens when compassion meets faith. When one generation serves another. When love is put into action.

At The WOW Center, we are grateful for volunteers of all ages who reflect the heart of Christ by serving our community with dignity, kindness, and care.

Moments like this remind us that ministry often looks like simply walking alongside someone who needs a little help.

We had such a wonderful time this past Saturday at our Postpartum & Play Group at The WOW Center!

Families joined us for two fun-filled sessions centered around a sweet Valentine’s Day theme, and it was extra special to have some dads and siblings join the fun!

Parents had the opportunity to connect with one another, share experiences, and explore simple ways to incorporate play and everyday activities at home that nurture their little ones’ development.

Each family also left with a handprint Valentine craft and an affirmation card to place on their refrigerator as a reminder of the beautiful work they are doing as parents.

✨ Join us for our next Postpartum & Play Group this Saturday, March 7th! We can’t wait to see you and your little ones.

A continued and heartfelt thank you to our partner and facilitator Paula Bradley of Strong Roots Occupational Therapy for guiding these meaningful sessions. We’re also incredibly grateful for the generous support of the New Jersey Birth Equity Funders Alliance, whose investment helps make programming like this possible for families in our community.

Today, we were blessed to come alongside Drew and Cindy Metcalf to provide clothing, toiletries, blankets, and more for their monthly “Bride Breakfast” outreach in Kensington. This beautiful ministry invites women in for a warm meal served with dignity alongside ears that are there to listen and remind these women how truly loved they are by their creator- that they are the bride of Christ. Whether struggling from addiction or prostitution this was a safe space for warmth, rest and both physical and spiritual nourishment. We pray this ministry will continue to be a vessel for God’s love to reach all his children living on the streets of Kensington.

This afternoon, our Galentine’s Paint & Sip at The WOW Center was truly a blessing. Led by the wonderful Ms. Cynthia, we enjoyed a peaceful and joy-filled creative experience with three beautiful painting options, giving each person the freedom to express the gifts God has placed within them.

The afternoon was filled with laughter, creativity, and meaningful fellowship as we painted, and shared space with one another. We were reminded of the beauty of sisterhood and the importance of gathering in love, encouragement, and gratitude. It was more than an art experience—it was a moment to rest, connect, and give thanks for community, creativity, and the joy that comes from being together.
