Happy Founders’ Day!

Today we proudly celebrate the remarkable legacy of our founders—Alice McLellan Birney, Phoebe Apperson Hearst, and Selena Sloan Butler—whose vision and dedication laid the foundation for the PTA movement and continue to inspire our work more than a century later.

Their commitment to advocacy, education, and community partnership lives on through every volunteer who gives their time, energy, and heart to support children and families across New Jersey.

To our parents, teachers, students, administrators, partners, community members, and supporters: thank you for sharing your talents, your leadership, and your unwavering belief in the mission of the NJPTA. Your contributions strengthen our schools, uplift our communities, and honor the spirit of our founders every day.

Congratulations to all of the recipients

National PTA announced today the recipients of over $1M in grants and products to support PTAs across the country as they engage families; elevate students’ voice; support educators; and work to make a difference for the health, safety, well-being and success of all students. The funding and products are made possible by AT&T, TikTok, Google, Discord, Norton (part of Gen), the New York Life Insurance Company, The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, Bayer, Uber, Kidde Fire Safety and Happy Products, as well as the family of Mary Lou Anderson, as part of the association’s PTA Connected, Healthy Lifestyles, STEM + Families, arts education and fire safety programs and initiatives.

✨230 local elementary school PTAs have been selected to receive $1,500 each, supported by AT&T, to host an interactive PTA Connected: Ready, Tech, Go! program.

✨98 local high school PTAs/PTSAs have been selected to receive $3,000 each and 8 district/council/region/special education/community PTAs have been selected to receive $5,000 each, sponsored by TikTok.

✨55 local middle school PTAs have been selected to receive $1,250 each, sponsored by Google, to host interactive PTA Connected: Be Internet Awesome & Meet LEO (Learn & Explore Online) programs.

✨20 local high school PTAs/PTSAs have been selected to receive $2,000 each, sponsored by Discord, to host a PTA Connected: Build Up and Belong program.

✨20 local PTAs have been selected to receive $1,500 each, sponsored by Norton, to facilitate PTA Connected: The Smart Talk digital safety conversations.

✨75 local PTAs have been selected to receive $1,250 each, sponsored the New York Life Insurance Company Foundation.

✨Seven district/council/region PTAs have been selected to receive the 2025-2026 Vape-Free Futures Challenge Grant of $2,500 each, supported by Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids.

✨40 local elementary school PTAs have been selected to receive $1,500 each, sponsored by Bayer Fund, to engage families together in hands-on science activities.

✨20 local elementary school PTAs have been selected to receive $1,500 each to host hands-on engineering design challenges.

✨Two local PTAs have been selected to receive the 2025-2026 Mary Lou Anderson Reflections Arts Enhancement Grant of $1,250 each.

✨20 local high school PTAs/PTSAs have been selected to receive $5,000 each, with support from TikTok and Uber.

✨10 state PTAs have been selected to receive $10,000 each to support capacity building.

✨25 local elementary school PTAs have been selected to receive over $140,000 worth of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, courtesy of Kidde Fire Safety.

✨141 local PTAs, representing 350+ schools, have been selected to receive 7,000+ Happy Products pods each.

for the 2025-2026 school year!

National PTA is offering funding to over 650 PTAs/PTSAs to help conduct programs for families in the areas of digital safety, STEM, healthy lifestyles, the arts and youth and family engagement.

The application period is now open.

Grant opportunities are available to engage youth and families and support hosting PTA programs like PTA Connected, Healthy Lifestyles, STEM + Families and more. These grants could fund the programs our
