I have just published a new book entitled: An American Miracle: The Making of a Constitution. Not many people understand how this short document is an original. Nothing similar had ever been written before, and consequently, it is the oldest law of its kind in existance. Not even the great Magna Carta provides such a comprehensive model of how everything in this nation is done. In short, The Constitution is a masterpiece.
This paper was not simply written by a bunch of farmers wanting to do something neat on a Sunday afternoon. It is the culmination of generations searching and working for a comprehensive statement about liberty and law. To reference Sir Winston Churchill, who was proud of his American heritage, The Constitution is the result of “Blood, Sweat, and Tears.”
