Haine Middle School students stepped into the world of blind sports last week! ⚽️👟 As classmates of an Envision athlete, students from 1st to 6th grade got hands-on experience with guided running, blind soccer, and goalball.

🙌 With fantastic instructors and students eager to jump in, try something new, and learn by doing, it was a day full of energy and new perspectives!

🚣💦 This past weekend, we hit the water with Three Rivers Rowing Association! Everyone had a blast progressing through the stages. We started on the ERG machines moved to practice in the indoor tanks, and eventually onto the river in the learning barge.

👏🏼 A huge thanks Matthew, Maureen, Maggi, and the rest of their crew for leading us through the day and to several students from the Nasuti College of Osteopathic Medicine at Duquesne for volunteering.

Here are a few simple ways to keep your eyes healthy and safe:

👓 Schedule yearly eye exams - Regular check-ins help catch any issues early.
😎 Wear eye protection - From sports and activities to everyday sun exposure, polarized sunglasses and safety glasses go a long way.
📱Reduce screen time - Give your eyes a break throughout the day to avoid digital eyestrain.

We were so proud to support longtime Envision athlete, Evie Schiel, as she completed her Eagle Scout project by hosting her very own Blind Sports Clinic! 🦅

The day at Kutztown University gave athletes, volunteers, and scouts the opportunity to experience Beep Baseball, Track & Field, and Goalball while learning more about adapted sports and having plenty of fun along the way! 🏃‍♀️⚾️🥅

We were so proud to be part of Foundation Fighting Blindness’ one-of-a-kind event this past weekend!🌟💙

With nearly 100 people in attendance, it was an incredible day bringing the community together to learn more about vision impairments and blindness, resources, adaptive sports like goalball, and so much more. It was a great opportunity to share more about Envision and our partnership with FFB while connecting with so many members of the community.

Soon to come is FFB’s Pittsburgh VisionWalk on November 7! Join us and several other organizations and vendors for another great day of community.

💪🛶 Athletes crushed an 8-Mile Kayak this past Saturday with Carried Away Outfitters! It was a great time cruising down the river, dodging obstacles, and enjoying time spent with our athletes and volunteers.
