This is what community support makes possible.

SSALD’s Community Day was a joyful celebration of inclusion, connection, and belonging for Mercer Island families. The free event brought kids and families together for adaptive bikes, inclusive dance, bubbles, activity stations, touch-a-truck, a bounce house, food trucks, community resources, and so much more.

The Mercer Island Schools Foundation is proud to help fund programs and opportunities that support every student and help every family feel seen, included, and connected.

Thank you to our generous community for making moments like this possible.

This is the kind of impact your gift makes possible. If you have not yet given, now is the time to help ensure programs like this continue for our students and families.

Our students deserve extraordinary opportunities, and those opportunities happen because this community gives.

✈️ Learning Comes to Life

Thanks to a Mercer Island Schools Foundation grant, West Mercer first graders visited the Museum of Flight, exploring airplanes, spacecraft, and the Charles Simonyi Space Gallery.

Students asked great questions about how aircraft designs have changed over time and how scientists study the sun, moon, and stars.

Experiences like this are made possible by our incredible Mercer Island community.

✈️ Learning Comes to Life

Thanks to a Mercer Island Schools Foundation grant, all West Mercer first graders recently visited the Museum of Flight at Boeing Field.

Students explored airplanes, spacecraft, and the Charles Simonyi Space Gallery, asking thoughtful questions about how aircraft designs have changed over time and how scientists study the sun, moon, and stars.

As one teacher shared, “Their eyes lit up as they connected what they saw to the science concepts we’re studying in class.”

Experiences like this turn curiosity into discovery — and they’re made possible by our incredible Mercer Island community.

Because of you, extraordinary learning happens every day.
