This spring, China Tomorrow Education Foundation visited partner schools and early-learning centers in Tengchong, Yunnan. Two classroom-upgrade projects were already complete; the remaining items below are sponsorship requests identified during the visit.
PROJECT 1- Menglian Kindergarten | COMPLETED
CTEF funded new flooring in three classrooms, creating a more comfortable learning environment for 120+ children. Teachers also shared their need for continued training, incentives, and basic teaching resources.
PROJECT 2- Bawai Kindergarten | COMPLETED
CTEF supported floor and wall upgrades in three classrooms. The school’s three teachers also praised the value of training and teacher incentives.
PROJECT 3- Qinghe Kindergarten | SPONSORSHIP REQUEST
Rain leaves the outdoor area heavily waterlogged. The school is seeking outdoor floating flooring so children can safely play after rain, as well as support to develop a neighboring open space into a school playground.
PROJECT 4- Puchuan Central Kindergarten | SPONSORSHIP REQUEST
This newly opened kindergarten has strong facilities, but the visit highlighted a broader request for tabletop learning materials and picture books for 25 local classrooms.
PROJECT 5- Bawai Early Learning Center | SPONSORSHIP REQUEST
This free center serves children ages 0–3 and their caregivers. Support is needed for facilitator salaries, training, materials, and day-to-day operating costs.
UPDATE
Following the visit, CTEF’s management group approved further classroom upgrades and an expansion of teacher incentives. Funds were disbursed in June 2026, with the goal of completing repairs during the summer and beginning additional teacher support. Other requests—including Qinghe’s outdoor flooring, early-learning-center support, and learning materials—remain opportunities for sponsorship.
