Bad habits are dangerous because they rarely hurt immediately. They quietly shape your future one choice at a time. What you repeatedly do today becomes who you are tomorrow. Small compromises may seem harmless in the moment, but small acts of obedience to God can also produce a harvest of righteousness and blessing.

We are so proud of Oscar and everything the Lord has done!

I used to identify myself as an addict/alcoholic, but have since discovered here at R.R.C. that I was just stuck in a vicious cycle of sin. Now this is not my life story, nor is it a summary of it. It’s just the most important part, my leading back to Christ. Hi, my name is Oscar S., and 9 months ago I was actively worshipping Satan, living for myself alone, not caring about anyone else. So I went to live with my mom in Mississippi in an attempt to get better in 2023–2024. After several attempts to get sober, in that year I went through six different jobs. It was the same story time and time again. I would get a job, get paid a few times, then fall into the same cycle of drinking and drugs and spending entire checks on it. It would always get to the point that my mom would get sick of it and start fighting with me about my drinking, drugging, and losing my job again. One day the fighting got out of hand. We were both very drunk, things got broken, and the cops got called, so I had to leave.
I packed up some clothes and left. My plan was to stay in a hotel for a few days and wait for things to cool down so I could go back home. Little did I know I was exactly where God wanted me. Even though I continued to drink for about a week until I ran out of money, one night while drunk I reached out to as many family members as I could to ask for help. No one could or was willing to help me anymore. Most just ignored my calls and messages. I then reached out to my brother Freddy. I had a conversation with him that I don’t remember, but he called the next morning and said he had purchased me a bus ticket to McAllen to come join you guys here at Revamp. I was brought here to RRC where, by only the grace and mercy of God, I am still here and graduating this 9-month program. I came to Revamp a sinner, cross-addicted/alcoholic, Satanist, lost in life. But thanks to God bringing me out of that darkness into His light. I am now Brother Oscar, watchman, soldier in Christ!

This is a powerful reminder that God is faithful over a lifetime, not just in one moment. If you are facing hardship, bound in addiction, dealing with fear or suffering, or waiting for breakthrough. Be encouraged! Just as God helped before, He is able to help again.

Sin separates us from Jesus! Sin also separates us from family, from peace, and it costs us! But through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, sin is washed away and we can be restored into a right relationship with God. It can also restore your relationship with others and give you a new life.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Cor 5:17

To God Be The Glory!

Hello, my name is Jose Perez. I am 42 years old. At the age of 13, I joined a street gang which led to me losing my family, friends, and my freedom. My life was full of sin, and my heart was full of anger, unforgiveness, bitterness, and so much more. When I was in prison, it was hard for me, but the ones that suffered the most was my family. My mother fell into depression and a very close uncle of mine died while I was in prison. I was tired and one day I decided that enough was enough. I was so sick and tired of being sick and tired, so I cried out to my Lord. The next thing you know, He answered and led me to Revamp. I ran from God, but I knew I had to quit running and surrender my life to Him. I was obedient, and I was placed in to leadership. He began to use my life and my testimony to help others and help guide them into the right path. Surrendering to God has changed everything in my life. He gave me purpose, He restored me, the way I was going, I should’ve been dead, but Jesus freed me. He broke the chains of addiction in my life, and I am drug free. I have a desire to live life according to His way, free from sin! I give all the glory and honor to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We are so proud of this young man, while in the program, God not only set him free, but restored his family back together, He was able to get married and make things right in the eyes of God.

My name is Marcelo Mendoza, I am 28 yes old, I started drinking alcohol at a very young age which later caused a life full of problems, not only in the physical, but also in spiritual. When drugs entered into my life, everything around me got worse. Although I learned the problem was not drugs and alcohol, it was sin in my life, I had unforgiveness, anger, jealousy, and so much more. Those who I hurt and suffered the most, were my family. Everything changed when I had an encountered God, my soul cried out for help and He heard me. I came to Revamp because of a relative. God in His way, was working not only on my restoration, but also on the hearts of my family. He gave me joy, the desire of His Presence, to serve, and to live a life according to His will, free me from sin. There is so much that He has done over these last 9 months, and that is why, I give Glory and Honor to my Lord Jesus Christ.

In battling addiction it can feel as if you have lost everything in life, but you have not lost everything , because you still have Jesus! He is our restorer, our hope, the One who can meet you wherever you are at!

“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” Romans 8:28
