Currently Shut up N' Smile is planning multiple fundraisers and holding regular open community meetings in order to open our storefront in Merced. Shut up N' Smile will be an art gallery accessible to all styles of local artists as well as a venue for Live music, theater, speeches and readings. When events and art receptions are not being held the store front will then be a community space where v
olunteered Art Lessons, Music Lessons and teach-ins will be taught as well as group organizing, community projects, and meetings. For example a typical Monday's schedule could look like a Youth drawing class from 2-3, acting class from 3-4, sustainability workshop from 4-5, Comic design from 5-6. The idea would be that an individual in the community could approach Shut up N' Smile with an idea that they would like to get off the ground or a skill they could offer and we would then facilitate the time, space and resources at Shut up N' Smile to help gain momentum and visibility.
