CUW Music Alumni! We have reached a bittersweet milestone in our department's history. As many of you know, our legendary band director and music department chair, Dr. Lou Menchaca, is officially retiring.

We wanted to share this wonderful photo of him alongside another familiar face who was a vital part of our music family for many years. This image captures more than just two faculty members; it represents years of mentorship, late-night rehearsals, and the passing of musical wisdom.

While Johanna's journey has recently taken her to a new chapter earlier this year, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible impact she had here under Dr. Menchaca’s guidance. Together, they helped shape the sound and the spirit of our instrumental program.

Dr. Menchaca has influenced generations of musicians. To help us celebrate his retirement, we want to hear from YOU!

The performace will be Dr. Menchaca's final concert before he retires as CUW Director of Instrumental Music.
